About us :: Our team

Jürgen founded Storyzon, LLC in 2002. Born in Germany, Jürgen studied literature and philosophy in Europe and the U.S. His interest in the unfolding of people's life stories was reflected early on in his doctorate on the interplay of history, chance, and our deliberate actions. Before immigrating to the U.S. about fifteen years ago, Jurgen lived and worked in several European countries. He has experience in publishing and marketing and has been formally trained in the process of creating personal histories by Germany's renowned personal history agency, the Medienbüro, in Berlin. He is also a published writer who has developed and taught numerous workshops over the past six years. His passion for storytelling is based on a deep appreciation for the miraculous unfolding of our lives.

Rachel does what some might consider grunt work—checking spelling and punctuation, getting a handle on hyphenation, catching dangling modifiers—and does it with joy. Following studies in
French and English and a stint as a librarian in Paris, Rachel moved to San Francisco, where her job as an advertising proofreader and her participation in UC Berkeley Extension’s Professional Sequence in Editing provided her with a great foundation in nitpickyness. A freelance copyeditor since 1999, she works on everything from retail catalogs and web copy to spiritual journals and nonfiction books.
